Plaster Drawing Casts
Published on November 21, 2025
American sculptor Justin Ryan Kendall has spent years building a collection of plaster casts with the goal of making them available and affordable to students, artists, and lovers of art and art history. His fascination with these casts began during his time in Italy studying at the Florence Academy of Art. In the spring of 2021, the Fountainhead Gipsoteca was born, offering high quality reproductions of some of history's most important sculptures. The collection is filled with masks, busts, and fragments from sculptors like Michelangelo, Praxiteles, Rodin, Bernini, and Donatello. The casts, most often intended for art instruction, also make for timeless display in the home or studio.
Beginning on the evening of 11/27, ARC followers can visit @fountainheadgipsoteca on Instagram to take advantage of Black Friday deals. Throughout the weekend, there will be a seconds sale (blemished or slightly damaged casts at a discount) shared in the Instagram stories. Additionally, you can visit fountainheadcasts.com anytime and use promo code ARC for 10% off your order.

Nympheus Luminansis
Published on November 20, 2025
ARC Associate Living Master, French artist Laurence Saunois will present Nympheus Luminansis, les nymphéas de la lumière (Nympheus Luminansis, Water Lilies of Light) in Figeac, France. The result of eight years of work, this tribute to Claude Monet offers a contemporary vision of the poetic world of Giverny. Ten large-format paintings, in which light and color take center stage, define her “real impressionism,” combining figurative precision with impressionistic emotion. The exhibition will then be presented in six American museums, affirming Laurence Saunois' international stature and her exploration of light, color, and artistic memory.
The exhibition runs from November 22 – 30, 2025 at Palais Balène, Rue Balène, Figeac 46100, France.

Of Light and Air: Winslow Homer in Watercolor
Published on November 13, 2025
American artist Winslow Homer (1836–1910) transformed the medium of watercolor through his relentless spirit of experimentation. His luminous views transport viewers to the rugged Maine coast, the Adirondack Mountains, seaside England, sun-drenched Caribbean waters, and beyond. The Museum of Fine Arts Boston houses the largest collection of Homer’s watercolors in the world, though the works’ fragility and sensitivity to light means they have not been displayed together in nearly half a century.
This exhibition brings dozens of the MFA’s Homer watercolors back into the galleries for a new generation to experience, alongside a selection of related oils, drawings, and prints by the artist. With material ranging from Homer’s childhood drawings all the way to his final canvas, left unfinished at the time of his death, visitors can follow the major chapters in his career and learn about the various environments—ecological, artistic, social, and economic—that shaped his enduring work in watercolor.
The exhibition runs from November 2, 2025 – January 19, 2026 at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, 465 Huntington Ave, Boston MA 02115.

Wright of Derby: From the Shadows
Published on November 7, 2025
'Wright of Derby: From the Shadows' is the first major exhibition dedicated to the British artist’s ‘candlelight’ paintings.
Illuminated faces gather around a variety of objects – from classical sculptures and scientific instruments to bones, bladders and animals. Through his unflinching scenes of people watching, Wright of Derby proposes moral questions about acts of looking.
Challenging the traditionally held view of Wright of Derby as a figurehead of the Enlightenment, this exhibition contributes to the ongoing re-evaluation of the artist, portraying him not merely as a ‘painter of light’. More than virtuoso scenes of dramatic light and shade, Wright of Derby used the night-time to explore deeper and more sombre themes, including death, melancholy, morality, skepticism and the sublime.
With over twenty works, including other paintings, mezzotints, works on paper and objects the exhibition explores both Wright of Derby’s artistic practice and the historic context of scientific and artistic development in which they were made.

Renoir Drawings
Published on November 7, 2025
While the paintings of Auguste Renoir (1841–1919) have become icons of Impressionism, his drawings, watercolors, and pastels are far less widely known. In fact, drawing remained central to his artistic practice even as his interests and ambitions changed over the course of a long career. This exhibition explores the ways in which Renoir used paper to test ideas, plan compositions, and interpret both landscape and the human figure.
This exhibition is the first in a century to explore the artist’s works on paper in depth. Organized by the Morgan Library Museum and the Musée d’Orsay, Paris, Renoir Drawings brings together nearly one hundred drawings, pastels, watercolors, prints, and a small selection of paintings, enabling visitors to engage with Renoir’s creative process while offering insights into his artistic methods over five decades.
The exhibition runs from October 17, 2025 – February 8, 2026 at the Morgan Library, 225 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10016.

Drawing the Italian Renaissance
Published on November 6, 2025
The Renaissance period saw a dramatic transformation in the way that artists worked, with a new-found appreciation for creativity pushing artistic boundaries. Drawing became central to this development, evolving from an essential tool of workshop practice to an exciting art form in its own right.
This exhibition brings together a wide range of drawings from this revolutionary artistic period, including 45 drawings never exhibited in Scotland before.
Exploring the diversity and accomplishment of drawing across Italy between 1450 and 1600, the exhibition will feature around 80 works by over 50 artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael and Titian alongside lesser-known artists, all drawn from the Royal Collection, which holds one of the world’s greatest collections of Italian Renaissance drawings.
The exhibition runs from October 17, 2025 – March 1, 2026 at The King’s Gallery, Palace of Holyroodhouse, Canongate, The Royal Mile, Edinburgh, EH8 8DX, UK.

Homecoming: Walter Osborne’s Portraits of Dublin, 1880–1900
Published on November 4, 2025
The Raclin Murphy Museum of Art presents the first monographic exhibition in forty years of the work of Walter Osborne, one of Ireland’s most-heralded artists. The exhibition charts Osborne’s trajectory from his student days in Dublin and Antwerp through his sojourn in Brittany and his early practice in England before returning to his native city to care for his niece and aging parents following the death of his beloved sister Violet in 1893. Through his depictions of Dublin’s streets, parks, public spaces, domestic interiors and gardens, countryside, and most importantly its people, a vision of a vibrant––if divided––Ireland emerges.
The exhibition runs until December 7, 2025 at the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art, St. André Way (corner of Eddy Street and Angela Blvd), University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN 46556.

Paul Troubetzkoy
Published on November 4, 2025
The exhibition traces the life of this artist, born in Italy and a Parisian by adoption, who also had a brilliant career in the United States. A highly talented portraitist, he was much sought-after by a cosmopolitan elite, celebrities, the Parisian smart set and the first American film stars. His life was marked by decisive encounters and friendships with men of letters, such as Tolstoy in Russia and George Bernard Shaw in Paris, with whom he shared a vegetarian lifestyle, somewhat unusual for the era. In addition to the portraits that made his name, the exhibition also highlights his animal sculptures along with his work on behalf of animal rights, of which he was an ardent advocate well ahead of his time.
The exhibition runs from September 30, 2025 – November 11, 2026 at Musee D'Orsay, Esplanade Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, Paris 75007, France.
