"We are always working with live models. From the first sketches on paper, to the final pieces, teamwork is essential. Since the first modeling in clay to the final bronze's patina, we control the whole process of our pieces. Everything is relevant, because in the final piece the emotions experienced during the creative process are condensed.

The common idea that underlies the whole of our works is the human figure. To get to it, literature, poetry, theater, photography, film and ballet serve as our inspiration. Through a language that oscillates between allegories and free revisions of mythological and literary characters, we create pieces such as The Tissue of Time, our own vision of the Penelope myth in which she waits for the arrival of Ulysses in a very smart way. Besieged by suitors who believe her husband to be dead after his 20 year absence, Penelope promises to choose a new husband once her weaving is finished. Weaving and unweaving her work, she keeps them at bay until the return of Ulysses. The pure emotion woven by an instant is our Penelope. With it we offer a part of our reflection about beauty, sensuality and stopped movement. Beyond the pedestal she stands, challenging time, looking at us with intriguing sensuality." – CODERCH AND MALAVIA SCULPTORS
