"Selecting a woman, a fish and a burning candle as elements of my painting, I try to dispel the color in a simpler way to create a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, in which the woman, fish and candle are unified in a simple gray tone. It is expected that every viewer will not only be attracted to the superficial beauty, but also gain insight into the original entities being described through the work. My work does not aim to simply reproduce the reality, for absolutely ‘real’ things are not real to me. They are seemingly clear and 'real' but in actuality they are fantastical and transcend reality." - Hongzheng Wang
