Saint and Sinner dramatically depicts the duality of man in the persona of a local Auburn Ca. individual who goes by the name of the Time Traveler. He has set his mental clock to 1870 and routinely dresses in authentic period clothing. Some say he is crazy and that may be true. He hosts a weekly radio show and writes an opinion piece for our local newspaper. He is shown in his Sunday best in front of a brandy still. He is aware that we judge others by their outward appearance and therefore he is comfortable with being judged. The painting reveals him as a possible country gentleman who proudly poses in front of his brandy still. It should come as no surprise that Prohibition failed. He remains true to himself, regardless of appearance.
