Hi Mr. Fred Ross,

I ran across your web site by accident. It is a marvellous site.

I am not much of an artist, well actually not at all, in fact, I can't draw a straight line with a ruler… but I know great art when I see it. I am brought to tears when I see a remarkable work that touches me to my soul. I can say that in my taste, I do not appreciate abstract art, modernism, or much of the era of impressionism. I was astounded to read articles on your site describing the bias and discrimination against realism. Furthermore, on the topic of your thread on Hockney, I didn't know much about him, but my general impression is he behaves as if he is a victim of "success breeds contempt." He cannot do what the masters did, so he pursues the means to discount or discredit what the past and the living masters can do, as if to make up some theory as to why he cannot accomplish the same.

Keep up the good work.

J
