He attended the San Francisco Academy of Art and began his art career in 1971 while serving in the U.S. Army as an illustrator for Infantry Magazine. Alan retired in 2005 after 30 years of service as a Fire Fighter/Paramedic for the City of Portland and is now able to work full time on his art. \u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003EIn 2006 he founded New High Renaissance to promote realism art throughout the world. In 2007 Alan curated a New High Renaissance Fine Art Exhibit at the Portland Art Center in Portland, Oregon, a major group art show that featured some of the finest realist artists in America. Over 700 people attended the event opening night. \u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003EAlan\u0027s artwork has been exhibited in several publications and national art exhibits.
