This will be Katsu Nakajima's first solo exhibition in the Ginza/Hibiya area in 14 years.

The exhibition will feature more than 35 works, including landscapes, centered around 10 of his latest realistic portrait paintings with gold leaf backgrounds.

He has previously painted several works that feature butterflies (swallowtails) on portraits, but this time the butterfly has changed to a moth. He has loved insects since he was a child, but says that he had an extreme aversion and fear of moths. However, he says that his perspective has changed significantly recently, and that he finds it mysteriously fascinating. His current solo exhibition "Mystic" features three works that explore the change in his mental image. It will be interesting to sense the transformation in his mentality, whether it is the sensuality hidden in the imbalance of equilibrium, or the dissonance between the visible and the invisible.
