Two years ago, I began my studies at The Swedish Academy of Realist Art. I am confident to say that I grew immensely, both as an artist and a person. Being exposed to fine art and finding myself among people so enthusiastic and sensient on a daily basis has refined my taste and appreciation for the old masters. It made me realize that however naive, my hopes are to live off by expressing my own artistic vision.
Apart from increasing the level of my technical skill, the education also helped me develop a strong work ethic, which I am firm to maintain after graduation.I cannot imagine a future where I am not striving to improve my craft. I find great pleasure in learning an am determined to keep on studying the phenomenon of nature. May it be through an academy, a residency, a workshop or on my own.
I also very much enjoy experiencing different mediums. I was lucky to be shown the art of etching by my instructor Hans-Peter Szameit, which has absolutely captivated me. And having the etching press now available at the academy offers a chance for me to dive into the technique and I explore it's beauty and incredible potential.
I trully wish to eventually build a future of pure artistic freedom for myself. And contribute something of beauty, meaning and quality to the world. My aim is to communicate a visual of something uplifting, to move and motivate other people. Even if just for a moment, make somebody else slow down and immerse themselves in the sublime.
