My Long-term Educational and Career Goals:

Dan Bunn

I intend to become a full time painter and career artist and have dedicated my life to this pursuit. I believe patience and hard work as well as deep love, curiosity, and a sense of wonder can make my goals a reality. I feel tremendously thankful to have found Grand Central Atelier along my meandering life path which began with a love for 'making things' when I was a small child. I find skill-based fine arts education critical to my personal development and a totally transformative experience. Before entering Grand Central Atelier I felt a major gap in my understanding of how to produce fully realized drawings and paintings. Studying at GCA has taught me how to dissect and organize complex visual problems into a series of preparatory studies and procedural methods that with practice and hopefully, mastery, can produce high quality artworks. I have completed two years of study so far and I hope to continue as a student at GCA for another two years. I plan to develop my own completed works alongside my studies, and hope one day to show my works in prestigious private and public collections. I have made it this far in large part because of generous scholarships and grants and I humbly hope the ARC will help me continue my studies at Grand Central Atelier with scholarship funding.
