My name is Ana Rodriguez Huesca, 30 years old, and gratefully attending the Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD)’s Drawing and Painting undergraduate program.

My intended goal is to learn the academic way of painting. I have two years left before completing my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at LCAD and I plan to make the most of this skill-building time. I wish my work to eventually be just as well-rounded and well-founded as the Old Masters’, work done deliberately and thoughtfully. It is these skills that will free me to infuse psychological depth into my artwork, with the personal intention to make them a place of inner stillness and beauty for the viewer. Another lifelong intent is to learn the traditional fine art technical knowledge, and to actively preserve it in an age where origins easily get lost.

Upon graduation, I will pursue a Master’s degree, allowing me to become a college or university professor, and to steadily produce artwork through personal direction, gallery mentorship, and commissions. My website is already set up, anarodriguezhuesca.com (take a look!), and ready for the next step in my professional life. I also plan to continue my artistic development by seeking the mentorship of contemporary classical and realist Masters.

As a first-semester junior in the Drawing and Painting program at LCAD, I see this four-year journey propelling me into a career as a dedicated representational fine artist of the highest magnitude, and most of all, propelling me into the best version of myself.
