My goal is to have a good foundation to be able to create beautiful work of the highest standard and dedicate my life to my art.
In the near future I want to continue my studies at Angel Academy of Art. After graduating, my intention is to move to New York and study at the Grand Central Atelier in order to expand my education with a different approach of drawing, painting, and sculpture.
It is my intention also to attend painting and sculpture workshops during and after my studies to experiment with different methods and materials.
One of my short term goals is to start producing work to sell online and to apply to more competitions. At the moment I don't have the means to keep paying for school so success in these competitions is key in order to continue my education.
After I finish my studies in New York, I want to travel and paint. I want to visit new places and gather Ideas for my future paintings as the 19th Century painters used to do. The more I think about my future the more excited I get to have chosen this profession.
I want to live well without worrying about money so I can focus on my work. I want to teach workshops and ultimately I want to be a link and pass along the classical knowledge of realism from the old masters onto new generations. One of my long term goals is find out as much as I can from the old painters and teach new generations of artists this craft. In the future I would love to have an academy, expand, and continue to revive Classical Realism.

Jose Antonio Lopez Vergara was born in Mexico City in 1994 but was raised in Madrid, Spain since 2000.
As a natural lover for art he spent his recreational time drawing cartoons and painting figurines as kid. In his teenage years Jose joined a group of young street artists in Madrid and started painting bright and colorful murals. This time of his life expanded his experience with color and ignited his desire to pursue originality in his work.
After having to move to Texas, USA in 2010 at the age of 17 he finished his basic studies and enrolled in art college. There he began using colored pencils which changed his view in art and opened a world of possibilities. Quickly he became known in social media for his drawings of realistic eyes and was published in The Huffington Post, Mail Online, and various online art magazines around the world.
For him this was a closer step into becoming a professional artist but he lacked the technique to execute and accomplish his most ambitious ideas. It was then that he decided to get a proper education and build a strong foundation in classical painting and drawing. In 2016 Jose joined the Angel Academy of Art. During his first years he was invited to draw live at Art Basel Miami for Lens Crafters and at the Societe Francaise d'Ophtalmologie in Paris. He was also invited to 'La Galeria Roja' in Seville, Spain to teach workshops.
Now, in his third year of studies he has fallen in love with the way realism and the adoration of the human figure has evolved since ancient times and with the power it has to portray and immortalize the best and most beautiful side of our world.
Jose also seeks to become a professional sculptor and aside from his studies in painting and drawing he learns to sculpt in his home studio and has attended workshops with professional sculptors.
