Your articles about the way these beautiful paintings were hidden from site by those who wanted to promote the shameful art of the 20th century, have made me see some things I hadn't previously noticed. Just last week I toured an historical home and noticed a painting sitting on its side on the floor, with the date "1875". While the tour guide yakked on an on about all the things in that particular room, she said nothing about why that painting was sitting there without ceremony. It was a picture of two children. The little girl was knitting something, and the little boy was mischievously unravelling her ball of yarn. The details were amazing. The bare feet were just perfect, and the hands looked photographic. I'm going to call the museam today and ask about the fate of this painting!
