What an excellent exploration of one of the underlying justifications for classical realism; the implicit visual (and philosophical) connectedness required to make art in a classically realist manner brings into view the fact that we share a lot more than we differ. Certainly in your response I don't see a dismissal (or angry denial) of alternative forms of art as much as an ordering, a position that I might advocate as well.
Is that an accurate reading of what you've proposed?
