[...] These posts are interesting for me at times; I have always viewed my work as a service to others. I paint for the client, speaking to them at lengths, creating 3 images hoping to find what moves them and digging further from there. I’ve not had a traditional art career; I’ve worked only in the forum of private commissions, not galleries or competition. I do believe in pursuing a higher level of skill will only provide better work for those who commission me and is a worthy cause. To “start over” with a new medium, new forum and here I’ve found myself reading posts from some of the most qualified, accomplished painters in the world can be humbling from one moment and absolutely frustrating in another.
