I'm sorry, but those are both self-evidently false. Freud doesn't paint in a "naturalistic" way. His paintings all have a strong style (a rather unappealing one I might add) and they aren't remotely "naturalistic". Nobody looks anything like A Freud painting, unless your standard of comparison is Picasso or Pollock.

As for Freud being "Britain's greatest living painter", I would put up any first year atelier student against him. His skill is weak, his range is miniscule, and his work is pathetic and ugly. Most famous? Maybe. Greatest? No way.
