The Victoria and Albert Museum is currently running an exhibition featuring works by Frederick Lord Leighton, Joseph Albert Moore, James Tissot, Edward Burne-Jones, and Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema. The exhibition is titled The Cult of Beauty: The Aesthetic Movement 1860-1900, but it includes many works that are by the Pre-Raphaelites as well. |
Although the exhibition confuses the two movements into one, it is still a fabulous exhibition of some of the greatest paintings of the period. It is open daily from 10am – 5:45pm and on Fridays from 10am – 10pm. The show closes on July 17th, 2011 so if you are in the London area, make plans to see it now. |
