And let us continue step by step to reconstruct what is ordered, what is good, what is true, what is beautiful. For that is not only the artist’s, writer’s and musician’s task — it is humanity’s calling.
So, defend beauty and use your skills without apology. Know that you stand in the lineage of the Renaissance, the Enlightenment and a thousand generations who worked to create the most advanced successful civilization that has ever existed."
