New ARC Associate Living Master
Published on March 14, 2025
ARC is pleased to welcome Frances McMahon as a new ARC Associate Living Master!
Australian artist Frances McMahon has been obsessively painting Australia's beautiful native birds in watercolor since age five.
Developed over many years, her technique consists of airbrushed backgrounds, with the main work completed in watercolor and small touches of gouache. Using a tiny brush, her masterful and elaborate paintings take between 13 and 297 hours to complete. Many of the details are so fine they may only be seen with a magnifying glass.
