Enchanted: A History of Fantasy Illustration
Published on June 16, 2021
Fictional worlds of magic and adventure come to life through fantasy illustration. Myths, legends, fables, romance, and epic battles involving swords and sorcery occur in a world unfamiliar to us. The exhibition will present the immutable concepts of mythology, fairy tales, fables, good versus evil, and heroes and villains through paintings, etchings, drawings, and digital art created by artists from William Bouguereau and Gustave Dore to artists working today.
Among the participating artists are ARC Living Masters Julie Bell, James Gurney, Donato Giancola, Greg Hildebrandt, and Boris Vallejo.
The exhibition runs from June 12 through October 31, 2021 at the Norman Rockwell Museum, 9 Glendale Rd / Rte 183, Stockbridge, MA 01262.
