Zimou Tan, Artist
Zimou Tan was named “Chinese Master Artist” in December of 2007 by the Chinese government
Art and Culture department, also selected as "The 50 Artists impacted China". Mr. Tan graduated
from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco in 2000. There he earned degrees in both
Traditional Illustration and Fine Arts.
2003, won the Northern California Gold Metal portrait painting competition.
2005, Gold Medal Winner at the Hudson Valley Art Association’s 74th Annual Exhibit.
2006, won Best of Show at the Morro Bay Art Association Group Exhibit.
Tan has exhibited with the California Art Club’s Gold Medal and Group Exhibits, New York
Portrait Society Gallery in New York City; American Artists Professional League Grand National
Exhibition in the New York City; de Young Museum, San Francisco, California, and Asia Society
of Arts of America, San Francisco, California. 20th Annual Marin Open Studio as the main feature
artist at Corte Madera, California.
Tan is a member of the California Art Club, Oil Painters of America, American Society of
Portrait Artists. Zimou’s work has been featured in “International Artist Magazine” “Art of the
West Magazine”, "The artist magazine", "Stroke of Genius", "Chinese Master Artist", "The 50
Artists inputted China”. Art Renew Center 2014, 2015, 2016 Finalist. First world watercolor
finalist 2014, Collection Beaux-Arts Réaliste's first prize. 2014. Grand prize winner for
International Artist Magazine portrait and figure challenge 2015.
2017, honored as ARC Associate Living Master.
