ANNETTE WHITAKER EVERETT BIOGRAPHY

Born in Utah in 1950, and raised in Washington state, Annette grew up drawing constantly. One of her pivotal influences was visiting the 1964 World’s Fair in New York City.  Michelangelo’s “Pieta” on loan from the Vatican in Rome, she was greatly moved from seeing this magnificent sculpture and she knew she would work hard to create art.

Annette’s formal education began at Brigham Young University and the University of Utah, then the Art Academy of Cincinnati, Ohio, continuing in various workshops, such as a juried sculpture class with Richard MacDonald.

In 1997, Annette established BRUSHWORKS Fine Art Studio & Gallerywith fellow-artists, which became a classroom, workshop, clubhouse and creative sanctuary for many students.  She began designing and sculpting full-size bronze monuments, including “Saint Clare” for the Saint Clare Catholic Hospitalof Weston, Wisconsin, and “The Watermaster” in Saint George, Utah.
