Lois Hunter

Canada

“I love the poignant impression that a tenebrist still life has on the viewer and

its lasting emotional effect. I long to capture these short stories.”

Throughout her life, Lois has been immersed in art and antiquities. This early interest drew her to producing still lifes in oils as a teenager.

Lois graduated from high school with a strong grounding in art. She continued to pursue her fine art education at York University and the Ontario College of Art, where she spent five years refining her drawing and painting skills.

Lois then joined the Academy of Realist Art to further improve her technical draftsmanship in drawing and working with oils. Through her work on Bargue renderings, drawings, cast studies and life painting here she is building an even stronger foundation to support her creative journey.
