Originally from Ohio, Allison Leigh Smith earned a BFA from The Columbus College of Art & Design in 1999. She went on to become an educator at The Columbus Museum of Art for a few years, then managed an art gallery in Hawaii through most of her twenties. After her time in the Pacific, Allison designed textiles for the fashion industry until she became a full-time painter in 2010. She is reperesented by Astoria Fine Art, in Jackson Hole WY, Trove Gallery in Park City UT, and Horton Fine Art in CO. In 2018, she won a grant from The National Endowment for the Arts, and was recently purchased by The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum and the National Museum of Wildlife Art.
