"Utilizing classical painting techniques and honoring the long tradition of recording our natural world, I find inspiration from landscapes in flux.  My focus is documenting the “ideal” form in nature undisturbed by human interaction. Being present and documenting a “here and now” image of our environment creates a point of reference in which future societies can compare and reflect on.  In the past few years, as the seas continue to rise due to global warming I have been drawn to coastal communities because of their constant transitional state. My vision is to create work that gives people a sense of hope for beauty in nature. In these pieces, the use of oil in itself a fluid medium, can direct my observations and emotional responses into the viewer’s conscience. My hope is that they too will be inspired to protect and preserve our seas and coastal habitats."
