Scott’s previous career as a magazine art director greatly informs his art. Scott is nationally recognized in the plein air landscape painting niche and travels around the country doing events. He’s won a few along the way. In 2008, he received attention for his series of paintings created on the site of Minneapolis’ I-35W bridge construction. In the spring of 2010, he won the top prize in the prestigious Salon International exhibition in San Antonio, Texas. The painting was selected from 392 juried works out of 1300 submissions from 46 states and 18 countries. He has been written up in national art magazines such as American Art Collector, Art Aficionado, Plein Air, and Southwest Art magazines. He has been accepted into the Minnesota State Fair Juried Fine Arts Exhibition twelve times since starting painting, winning three ribbons and two Honorable Mentions. He was also a recipient of a Minnesota State Arts Board Grant in 2012. His art has taken him to Italy, China, Mexico, England, and, Canada. Scott lives in south Minneapolis with his wife and business partner Kristi and has two adult daughters.

Former Minneapolis mayor, R.T. Rybak, says,

“Scott Lloyd Anderson is an immensely talented painter and a gift to our community. I see so many of his paintings of places I’ve seen over and over, and find something new, some new perspective, something very special in what I had thought was ordinary. I’m not sure how he does it but I hope he keeps doing it. I’m an avid fan.”
