Born on August 9th, 1967 in Kazan, Russia.
An animal painter by trade, Gerasimova has been drawing animals for as long as she can remember.
Her very first paintings were by no means human.
She finished art school in Kazan.
Then, her love of our wild brethren drove her to enroll in veterinary school.
That experience later influenced her artistic style.
A true master of realism, her works are so strikingly vivid that the subjects appear to be breathing.
The artist uses airbrushing to achieve that level of naturalness and realism.
The air brush allows Gerasimova to represent the smallest details with the same intense precision as a paint brush.
Looking at her paintings one cannot believe that they were created by hand.
But, it is true, all of her works are produced using only an air brush, a knowledge of anatomy, and her artistic talent.
Ekaterina’s favorite subject matter is animals, but her artwork is not limited by it.
Other than canvas, an air brush has many mediums, including cars and housing interiors.
One can draw on almost any surface using an airbrush.
