Lauren Tilden

United States

Lauren Tilden, an American painter, has developed a style, which contains remnants of the Philadelphia tradition with roots in Eakins and Wyeth. She received her Master of Fine Arts from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, where she studied with Sidney Goodman, Vincent Desiderio and Patrick Connors. Her use of a limited palette, selective detail balanced by a painterly application supports her distinct vision. Her work is represented by F.A.N. Gallery in Philadelphia, PA and Haynes Gallery in Franklin, TN.

She is a three-time recipient of grants from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation. She has received first place in figurative category in the Art Renewal Center’s 13th International Salon. Her work has appeared in numerous publications and is included in the collections of the Rockwell Museum, Corning, NY, the MEAM, Barcelona, and the Art Renewal Center. Lauren Tilden lives and works in the rural countryside of southern New Jersey where the landscape serves as a backdrop for her life-affirming and poetic paintings.
