Marisela has been intimately related with the arts throughout her life. Her journey began in her native Costa Rica, where she became an internationally renowned award-winning Art Director. She later moved to the United States where her passion for classical realism flourished by learning the oil painting techniques of the old masters, atelier-style, at Zoll Studio (Baltimore, MD) and other workshops including The Florence Academy of Art (Greater NY).
Her inspiring work has received ample recognition including a solo show at the Embassy of Costa Rica in Washington DC (2014) and selected participation at many renowned juried shows: the AALP National Exhibit at the Salmagundi club in NYC, where she received the Janet Apolant award(2014); Women Painting Women at the Principle Gallery in Charleston SC (2014); Oil Painters of America National Exhibition (2015) and Oil Painters of America Eastern Regional Exhibition (2018) amongst others. Marisela’s sought out work has joined the list of many private collectors in both the United States and Costa Rica.
