Cindy Sorley-Keichinger

Canada

Cindy grew up on a farm in East Central Alberta. Family vacations were always at National Parks doing lots of trail hiking, with field guides in hand to learn all about the enviroment around us.  There was no such thing as walking in ignorance of our fellow inhabitants of the planet.  Naturally that led to wanting to draw and paint nature.  Cindy is a self taught artist, and lives on a grain farm with her husband and their now expanded family that includes grandchildren.  With the encouragement of her husband, she continues to paint what she loves.

She works mainly in acrylic, but also uses gouache and oil.  She likes the punch she gets with their colours.  When doing her paintings, she likes to research the animal and or area so she can portray the subject correctly, including its habitat so others may get to know a bit more about her subject.  Wildlife is her favorite followed by landscapes as a subject matter; as there is never any boredom with an ever changing subject.
