Jacquelyn Pruiksma

An American artist, Jacquelyn Pruiksma is inspired by the Dutch Old Masters and the American Impressionists.  Her scholarship to study classical oil painting at the Ridgewood Art Institute in New Jersey with Arthur Maynard focused her interest in landscape and nature.  She continued her study with Frank Mason of the Art Students League, New York City, and with John Osborne of the Ridgewood Art Institute.  Ms. Pruiksma focuses on the endless change in the flow of light, and her goal is to create an impression of nature's infinitely changing moods.  The beauty of wild, untouched places fuels Ms. Pruiksma's imagination.  The Hudson River Valley, the Black Dirt farmlands, and the abundance and richness offered by the natural world inspire the perfect union of this painting philosophy and creation of her work.

Ms. Pruiksma's work has been exhibited at the American Artists Professional League, Hudson Valley Art Association, National Arts Club, Ridgewood Art Institute, and the State University of New York, Orange County.  She has received awards from the American Artists Professional League and her work is in private collections in the United States.  She holds a Bachelor's degree in Art and Education from William Paterson University and a Master's degree in Social Work from Columbia University.
