Regardless of the level attained, the creative spirit of an artist can never stop learning. Artist Hebe Brooks is no exception to this rule. She seeks artistic knowledge at every opportunity and she challenges herself to go further in pursuit of inspiration and development of technique.
Today Hebe’s work has several signature elements. One of these is her use of reflections, whether they are gracing a gleaming silver teapot in a still-life painting or a crystal clear lake in a landscape.Another common element is her use of exuberant motifs. It is a passion for detail and perfection that sets her work apart. It is also this passion that has led to several awards and acceptances into esteemed juried national and international exhibitions. Among the awards received in the last three years are Best of Show, Third Place awards, Best Still Life and multiple Honorable Mentions or other recognitions.
Most afternoons, one can find Hebe painting in her studio; however, her involvement with art extends beyond the studio walls. She is a current member of several artists’ associations. She is also a docent at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston and works as a volunteer in art organizations.
Her work has been published in the International Artist Magazine, Southwest Art Magazine and American Art Collector.
