Katarzyna Adamiak - Jaśnikowska

Poland

Katarzyna Adamiak - Jaśnikowska - was born in 1985 in Legnica. She is a graduate student of the Eugeniusz Geppert's Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. In 2016, she defended her diploma in painting. In her paintings , the artist focuses mainly on the human being. She has been concentrated on the portraits. She writes about her work:

“(...)I hallow a lot of time to extract a character from the face of the portrayed human.

I patiently put layers of light, I built a portrat that subtly tries to show what is not seen at the first sight in a given person.

These are all spiritual portraits. I create them with a particular sensitivity and  intension to capture something more than only physical state of the portrayed person. I try to present not only a physical similarity of the model but also this spiritual element is very important for me – a human being apart from the body has got the soul, as well.

Regardless of our understandig of the very concept I hope that a spectator manges to observe a spiritual side of my paintings. It can sound banal but while working on my portraits I am looking for the same features in my own life, everyday meeting with the other person. I am searching for good and spiritual beauty which everone bears inside their souls. “

The space depicted in the painter's paintings is not a purely realistic convention. We can also find in it a rich metaphorical world, full of atmosphere of mystery and ambiguity. Finalist of painting competitions, many times honored. She presented her works at many juried exhibitions including: „Modportrait 2017” IAACC Pablo Serano, Instituto Aragones de Arte y Cultura Contemporaneos, Zaragoza, Spain and „Modportrait 2017” The MEAM Museum, Barcelona, Spain„Something more than realism … XII”, Zaragoza, Spain; 2014 "5th Nationwide competition for them.
