Anthony Alemany

United States

Anthony Alemany (1985) is an emerging realist sculptor in southern Maine. He was born in Chattanooga TN, and raised in Ringgold, GA. He graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design and took a summer sculpting course at the Florence Academy of Art which proved to be life changing. Since then, he turned his artistic attention entirely to sculpting the figure in a realist quality. After moving to Maine, he took an 8-year hiatus in business management. Since then, he has taken what he has learned and made the great leap to full-time sculptor.

For Anthony, Fine Art is a language which he aspires to speak. Art has the capability of communicating powerful truths that are uniquely human in a way that words cannot. Anthony finds inspiration from ancient classical literature that has shaped the modern world, such as the Bible and the Homeric epochs. He has spent the last 5 years learning Greek and Hebrew in order to explore ancient classical texts in the richness of the original languages. These classical narratives continue to resonate with contemporary audiences because they capture something that is foundational to human experience, and something that fine art continues to express.
