Adam Davenport

 Adam Davenport graduated with a BFA in painting from University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2000. Known for his versatility in realism and portraiture, Davenport explores the mystery and extraordinary qualities that lies in ordinary people and places. In 1998, Davenport painted the official portrait of Mississippi Governor Kirk Fordice that hangs in the state capital in Jackson.  Becoming known as a Portrait painter at this time led into a career that has lasted since.  Residing in Louisiana, Hurricane Katrina became a focus of importance, capturing the human condition in disastrous landscapes and portraits. In 2011, Sol’s Pipe and Steel Commissioned Davenport to sculpt a life size bronze of Sol Rosenberg to commemorate his life and achievements. This statue is on display in the lobby at Sol’s Pipe and Steel in Monroe, LA. In 2016, he sculpted Bill Pickett, a historic black cowboy, for his hometown of Taylor, Texas. Recently, Davenport completed a wildlife bronze statue of mallards for the new Taylor High School football Stadium. Davenport’s art has been acquired into several private and museum collections thru out the South. His work can also be viewed at Davenportstudios.com.
