Margaret Carrier

Margaret Carrier studied extensively at the Ingbretson Studio, Manchester, NH. It was here that she found a direct lineage to the painters she had always admired. The turn of the twentieth century Boston School painter William Paxton taught R.H. Ives Gammell, who in turn taught Paul Ingbretson. Margaret studied the Boston School approach to painting which combines the truth of the impressionists color with sound drawing. Before finding the Ingbretson Studio, she graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence RI.

Margaret has won many awards including The National Arts Club award, the Helen de Cozen Award and the Colonel George J. Morales Award at the Catharine Lorillard Art Club, NY, NY. She was also the recipient of the Third Place award from the Connecticut Women Artist's Annual Open Juried Exhibition, and the grant recipient from the Westborough Cultural Council. Margaret was a Still Life Finalist in the 9th and 11th Annual Art Renewal Center Salon and the 2018 Members Only Portrait Society of America.  The University of Massachusetts awarded her the Chancellor Talent Award for Excellence in Art.
