Tim Kelly

Tim Kelly is a lifelong Baltimore, MD resident. Earning a BA from Maryland Institute, College of Art in 1992, Tim embarked on a freelance illustration career before turning his focus towards fine art. Plein air painting has become a specialty, with figurative, portrait, and still life also occupying his artistic pursuits.
   From his earliest days taking art seriously, Tim has carried a passion and appreciation for realist styles of art. Although his interests are not limited to the realist tradition, it is this tradition that has always permeated his efforts.  With plein air painting in particular, where Tim has gained some degree of achievement, his efforts to inject realism into a genre more noted for impressions and color sketches has set his work apart from most of the plein air painting seen today.
