Rusudana Glonti

United Kingdom

Having grown up  in Moscow, I was exposed to some of the world's best art from an early age visiting museums and exhibitions with my parents and teachers. Inspired by the great Russian masters of the 19th century like Ilya Repin, Ivan Kramskoj, Valentin Serov,  I always took a keen interest in painting but life took me on a different path: originally I was educated as a linguist and worked as a translator for a number of years.  My moving to the UK in 1999 coincided with the beginning of a new stage in my life when I started painting again and after a variety of short courses and workshops realized the need of a proper training which brought me to Angel Academy in Florence where I spent the next 4 years graduating in 2012. Upon my return home to Aberdeenshire, Scotland I set up my own studio from which I currently  work  and also continue to hone my skills taking workshops and short courses with some of the world renowned artists like Max Ginsburg, Joshua LaRock, Kathy Anderson just to name a few. Although I enjoy various subjects my main focus is on still life and portraiture. I take part in exhibitions, open studios  and art fairs  across the UK and also accept commissions. Over the past 6 years since my graduation I was short-listed for "Artists Of The Year" by "Artists & Illustrators"  4 times and my paintings were exhibited in Mall Galleries, London. In 2015 I became The Grand Prize Winner of The Still Life Competition by "International Artist" magazine and had an article about me published in "American Art Collector". I also became finalist in ARC Salon on 4 occasions.
