Timur Karim was born in Dushanbe (Tajikistan), where he graduated from Art School. In 1990-1996, as a scholar of Ministry of Culture of Tajikistan, he studied at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of Ili Repin in St. Petersburg, at the faculty of easel painting. In the famous portrait studio, led by Professor Viktor Iosifoviča Rejchet, he perfectly overmastered realistic, academic workshops and the secrets of his favorite techniques: oil painting and watercolor. After graduation in 1998 he had gone to Poland and thence he has been living in Przemysl. In addition to easel painting he creates religious paintings, such as in St. Andrew chapel at the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Krakow-Lagiewniki. His works are to find in private collections in Poland and abroad. Since 1997 he has been taking part in the international open-air (Poland, USA,Morocco, Hungary, Slovakia, Ukraine) and he has been showing the work in solo and group exhibitions in Polish galleries and museums, also in Russia. In 2010 he won the Grand Prix II International Competition of nude, organized by the Marquardt Gallery in Lodz, as well as a number of awards at the International Competition of Russian Art Week in terms of: act, animals, fantasy.
