Michael Situ is a nationally recognized and award winning artist in the United States. He is a Signature Artist Member of Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, California Art Club and Laguna Plein Air Painters Association. He is a contemporary artist of American Impressionism style. He is known for his vivid, luminous and richly colored landscapes of the coasts and various scenes that capture his imagination. Powerful compositions, strong brushwork and a gorgeous sense of color all come together in perfect harmony, marking him a master of plein air painter. At early age he begin to interest drawing and painting, growing up China where he study at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. He immigrated to America in 1989 and now lives in Southern California. He is a full time professional artist whose artwork has been exhibited at numerous prestigious national museums, national juried exhibitions and major invitational Plein Air competitions, such as the Arts for the Parks Top 100 International Juried Exhibition, the Oil Painters of America Annual National Juried Exhibition, the American Impressionist Society Annual National Juried Exhibition, the California Art Club Golden Medal Annual National Juried Exhibition, the Master of Fine Art Salon International Juried Exhibition. Michael has been an exhibiting artist every years at the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach Since 2002. His paintings are in museum collections and numerous private collections throughout the United States, China and internationally. His first art book “The Overseas Oil Painter of China -The Oil Painting of Michael Situ” was published by Tianjin People’s Fine Arts Publishing House of China In 2008, second art book “Michael Situ’s Oil paintings” published in 2018. The“International Artist magazine” International magazine have featured his article and paintings. “Art of the West”, “Plein Air Magazine” and few other national magazine have featured his artworks. Michael has been received of numerous prestigious national awards.
