Sally Ryan

Australia

Sally Ryan is an Australian painter living and working in Sydney. Although her practice includes a variety of genres her main focus is portraiture and figure painting with commissioned works hanging in collections at universities, schools, hospitals and the Parliament (of Victoria) within Australia.

Sally began her training at the Julian Ashton Art School where she was awarded a scholarship in 2010 before further refining her skills through workshops at Studio Escalier, Paris and the Grand Central Academy, NY.

Since then she has been working professionally as a portrait painter and has had her work recognised in numerous competitions both nationally and internationally, including the ARC Salon. Recently she was awarded Signature Status with the Portrait Society of America.

In addition to her own practice, Sally also teaches portraiture and figure painting at the Julian Ashton Art School as well as running workshops throughout Australia. She is available for commissions worldwide.
