Shira Friedman is a current Fellow and part-time instructor at Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia, PA where she completed the four-year Advanced Fine Art Program in 2015. Shira previously earned a B.F.A from Syracuse University, where she studied with Jerome Witkin and Sarah McCoubrey. While there, she received the Mary Witkin Honorable Mention Award for Drawing. Shira currently has work available through the Seraphin Gallery in Philadelphia. She has shown work at Avery Galleries, Stanek Gallery and the F.A.N. Gallery. Outside of Philadelphia her work has been exhibited at nationally recognized spaces such as the Manitou Galleries in Santa Fe and the Salmagundi Club in New York.  Her painting, “White Onion” was published in International Artist Magazine as a finalist in the 2017 Still Life Challenge. Some of her awards include multiple recognitions through the Portrait Society of American Members-Only competition and Third Place in the Richeson75 International 2017 Still Life & Floral Competition. The primary focus of Shira’s current work is still life, where she finds beauty and inspiration in everyday objects.
