Joke Frima is an internationally recognized and successful artist. She studied with the famous Signorina Simi in Florence, Italy. Since 2010, Joke Frima has been recognized as a "Living Master" and is included in the Living Masters Gallery of the ARC. Frima has won many awards, first prize Landscape in 2013 at the Art Renewal Salon Competition. Other prizes at the Portrait Society of America, the Salmagundi Club - New York, TRAC awards and many others.
In 2018 a retrospective exhibition was devoted to her work in the Drents Museum in Assen, the Netherlands and a beautiful catalog called Flora of 97 pages was published.
Last year, 2018, Frima won an ARC Purchase Award, an Arcadia Contemporary Award and an honorable mention for Landscape. Exhibitions of Frima’s paintings are numerous and take place all over the world. But especially; exhibitions and art fairs in Amsterdam and other places in the Netherlands. Joke Frima has her main studio in Burgundy in France. This studio is very spacious and bright amid the lavish natural landscape of Burgundy. She has her own exhibition space as well. It is situated in the former school in the hamlet Vissingy, in Bourgogne France.

Her studio in the Netherlands is in Driebergen. For the numerous exhibitions and art fairs, Joke Frima travels regularly abroad. The combination of the very rural and quiet environment in which to work and the frequent busy visits to the Netherlands proves to be particularly fruitful. 

Joke Frima was born in 1952 in The Hague, the Netherlands. She studied at the Academy of Fine Art, Rotterdam, and the Academy of Fine Arts, Tilburg in the Netherlands from 1969 - 1975 1976 - 1984 she was at Studio Simi in Florence, Italy. Since 1999 she has her studio in France.--
