My training has been both academic and atelier and I have been fortunate to learn under, and alongside, many great international figurative sculptors. I have been continuing my training and been working fulltime on my sculpture for 2 years now. I work figuratively in clay, resin, plaster, stone and metals.
I am currently developing and creating my first collection of works - The Consequence Project. This work explores the extreme dichotomies across human intellect and how this can manifest as artistic expression. Humankind can inspire and amaze or deeply disgust me. In particular I’m interested in how these opposing attributes, and others, such as life and death, fragility and strength, light and shadow etc. can coexist as visual art; for example, figurative and abstract, classical and contemporary, geometric and organic.
