Jeff Ripple

Jeff Ripple is a self-trained artist dedicated to a poetic realism in landscape painting. For Jeff, that is the artistic union of an accurate depiction of a scene infused by his emotional response to the light and atmosphere on that landscape. Such a painting may or may not be of a precise location or moment in time, but it is always believable and true to place.

Jeff sketches and paints regularly in nature in keeping with the tradition of the 19th Century Hudson River School, his strongest influence.Outdoor painted studies often stand alone or become critical reference material in conjunction with sketches, video and photos for larger studio works. Jeff focuses on landscapes of Florida and the South though he paints throughout the United States. Recently, he has been painting in Cuba and is currently working on a series of paintings and drawings exploring his connections with the landscapes of Florida and Cuba.
