Artistic pursuits have always been a part of my life, whether manifested through clothing design and home decor, or with pencils, brushes and paint. My earliest training occurred when, as a teenager, I completed the four-year correspondence course with Art Instruction Schools, based in Minneapolis, MN. This enabled me to gain employment as a graphic artist for five years while I completed my university education. I then embarked upon a career as a teacher and school administrator. Following the completion of a Ph.D. in Educational Administration is 2006, I was employed at the University of Manitoba,Canada.
During the past seven years, I have studied Fine Art at the University of Manitoba, and drawing/painting at the Academy of Realist Art in Toronto, Ontario. I now reside in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and work from my home studio.
My preferred media include graphite, charcoal, and oil. My work focuses on contemporary realist art including portraiture, animals, still life, and landscapes.
