"Just the Beginning was the first piece I finished after receiving my Masters in Fine Arts from the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco. It’s a painting of my daughter whom is incredibly strong-minded. This is a self-portrait painted through my daughter since my children are so much a part of who I am and are a huge inspiration in my work. After my divorce, I felt knocked down and broken, but I pulled myself up and started working hard in my career as a full-time artist and single mom.
