This portrait is of my first and most influential art teacher and mentor, John Giarrizzo,  whose infectious excitement for drawing and painting and the beauty of the Old Masters instilled in me a desire to be a painter and directed me toward the path I’m on now. My life would be completely different if I had never met this great man.
