The Crucible of Enos is based on a story from the Book of Mormon about a man named Enos who goes into the forest to hunt and during this time he desires a deeper understanding and an awareness of God. To me, this story is an allegory of overcoming personal difficulties and obstacles to reach personal enlightenment and a connection to the unknown. The story mentions that Enos goes to hunt wild beasts, and I’ve used the panther as an allegory for inner conflict and the struggle to overcome it.
